It is crucial to note that the lawsuit must be initiated within one year from the discovery of the affair. Marital infidelity is considered a grave offense in Thailand, carrying legal consequences for both the adulterer and the third party involved. The objective of the law is to safeguard the sanctity of marriage and discourage infidelity by implementing penalties like fines, compensation, and potential loss of career or pension.
