Rachanai Sarach says she is in love with the former AFL star and wants marriage. Mark ‘Bomber’ Thompson has been dating a deported Thai woman, it has been revealed.
Richanai Sarach has said she is in love with the former AFL star and that she wants to marry him.
The pair got to know each other in Melbourne last year, but she was deported from Australia on January 3.
Asked if she wants to get married to him, she replied: ‘Yeah, I what (want).’
The woman uploaded dozens of photos of her and Thompson travelling Asia together on Facebook, but has since deleted them.
One was captioned in Thai: ‘My love, we will love each other forever.’
Thompson reportedly tried to visit Ms Sarach at the Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre in December but was allegedly turned away.
He was allowed to visit her when he tried again a week later and allegedly left her $5,000 in US and Australian dollars and a phone before she was deported.
On Wednesday Thompson apologised to his fans after being charged with seven offences – including trafficking ‘ice’.
The footy legend, 54, emerged from his Port Melbourne home wearing a bicycle helmet before riding up the street.
‘I’m sorry they had to put up with this,’ Thompson said to his supporters.
‘Hopefully I’ll get through it,’ he said, before riding away on his bike.
After returning from his bike ride Thompson said he was feeling ‘pretty down’.
‘It’s been a pretty hard time but that’s okay.’
He was granted bail in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
It was granted on a $20,000 surety that required him to surrender his passport, live at the same address and stay in Victoria.
Thompson joked that he was going into the ‘ice business’ years before he was arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offences.
Speaking on Fox Footy’s On The Couch program in 2009, the AFL great laughed about his plans after his retirement.
‘I’ll retire and do something else. Like sell frozen water or something… Ice. I just bought into an ice business,’ he quipped.
The court was told quantities of methamphetamine, ecstasy, LSD and MDMA were found in plastic bags during a January raid on Thompson’s Port Melbourne home.
Some of the drugs were allegedly found in a small room protected by a keypad and only Thompson had access to it, the court heard.
Senior Constable Naomi Bourke told the court ice pipes, resealable bags, weight scales and hard drives were also found at the property.
A police summary alleged Thompson’s DNA was found on a bag with MDMA in it and on other bags containing drugs.
ut the AFL legend was bailed on strict conditions, including a requirement he report to police three times a week.
Thompson was interviewed by police and had been considered a ‘person of interest’ before his arrest.
Details about the January raid at Thompson’s home were revealed in a courtroom in as Thomas Windsor – a man who used to live with him – applied for bail.
Windsor, 28, was arrested in the raid and is facing multiple charges including counts of trafficking commercial quantities of amphetamine, ice and trafficking ecstasy.
Thompson has previously refused to answer questions about why an alleged drug-trafficker was living in his home after the raids.
He has previously denied involvement with criminal activity. The 54-year-old is due to return to court on May 25. MP – EP
