Unidentified Drones Spotted Over UK Bases Used by U.S. Forces

Officials have confirmed the sighting of unidentified drones over three British air bases used by the U.S. Air Force. The drones were first reported last week over Royal Air Force Lakenheath, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, and Royal Air Force Feltwell, as stated by the U.S. Air Forces in Europe.

The “small unmanned aerial systems” observed varied in number, size, and configuration, with all three bases located in eastern England, approximately two hours north of London, between Cambridge and Norwich.

“We do not discuss specific force protection measures to ensure operational security, but we reserve the right to protect our installations,” the U.S. Air Force stated. On Tuesday, they affirmed that the situation is “still ongoing.”

Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder addressed the media, explaining that the drones are “being actively monitored” and have not yet affected the bases or their personnel.

“The bottom line is we are taking this seriously and are continuing to investigate, but as of now, it has not had any significant mission impact,” Ryder noted.
