A man has been arrested in Thailand following an extensive investigation into a cocaine trafficking network operating across the south-east of England.
According to Essex Police, a 28-year-old from Wickford was apprehended in Phuket on Sunday. The arrest comes after a “years-long” investigation into a suspected drug supply network.
The inquiry, which focused on the distribution and sale of Class A and Class B drugs between July 2021 and May 2022, has led to this significant breakthrough. The man is now in custody and will face extradition proceedings.
Detective Inspector Yoni Adler commented, “This arrest is the result of strong collaboration between multiple agencies and extensive intelligence gathering. My team remains dedicated to dismantling and disrupting the organized criminal networks that drive the illegal drug trade across Essex.”
