University Student ‘stabbed and burnt to Death

A university student was found stabbed and burned to death in a room in Nonthaburi on Wednesday, with a prime suspect captured on a security camera.

The incident took place in an apartment building in the Bang Khen area of Muang district, Nonthaburi. Residents alerted police and rescuers after discovering the body of a man in a fire-damaged room on the sixth floor.

Witnesses reported that around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, they noticed the smell of smoke and began knocking on doors to locate the source. They eventually saw smoke billowing from room 611.

After gaining access to the room and extinguishing the fire, they found a man lying face-down, his body wrapped in a blue cloth. Upon bringing him out of the room, they discovered he was already deceased.

The room contained no electrical appliances, except for an unplugged fan. The body was severely burned, and the victim had three stab wounds—one on his forehead, another on his chin, and a third on his chest. Forensic investigators from the Central Institute of Forensic Science also found scalp hair clutched in the victim’s hand.

According to police, a security camera recorded the victim returning to his room at 2:18 p.m., accompanied by a suspect wearing a white shirt. The suspect was later seen riding a red motorbike toward Prachachuen Road around 3:20 p.m. The motorbike was reported stolen.

The suspect is believed to be a woman who attended the same university as the victim. A friend of the victim mentioned that the two had a contentious relationship.

Police suspect that the victim, identified only as Wissawa or Sun, 22, may have been involved in an argument with his attacker before being fatally stabbed and the fire set to cover up the crime. Authorities are actively tracking down the suspect for questioning.
