Katie Taylor is set to face Amanda Serrano in a highly anticipated rematch, marking one of the most significant events in women’s boxing history. The bout will serve as the co-main event for the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul exhibition fight in Texas.
Their first encounter in 2022 at Madison Square Garden ended with Taylor securing a split decision victory, claiming the undisputed lightweight title in what was dubbed the fight of the year.
Recently, Taylor, 37, reclaimed her undisputed super-lightweight titles by defeating Chantelle Cameron in a rematch held in Dublin. This victory followed her first professional defeat against Cameron a year earlier.
The upcoming rematch will be held at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Texas, the iconic home of the Dallas Cowboys. Just like Tyson and Paul’s bout, the event will be broadcast live on the streaming platform Netflix.
Taylor expressed her excitement, saying, “The first fight in New York was an epic occasion, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different.”
Both Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs) will compete across ten two-minute rounds. While Serrano has secured victories in her last four bouts, Taylor remains a formidable opponent, making this rematch even more thrilling.
Serrano, promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, commented, “I’m coming for her belts; she wants 10×2, so that’s what we will do.”
Mike Tyson praised the fighters, stating, “Adding one of the greatest fights in women’s boxing history to this unforgettable event is a true gift to fans.”
