An early morning collision in Pattaya Soi 11 yesterday wounded two moped riders. The motorcyclist claimed that the road’s excessive darkness was to blame for the accident.
The Pattaya Police Station received a report of a moped collision involving injuries on Soi 11 . Emergency reaction personnel raced to the location to evaluate the situation after getting the information.
A damaged and overturned Honda Zoomer-X moped was discovered in the middle of the road at the scene of the collision. The motorcycle’s driver, Ms. Supaporn, 24 (last name withheld), was recognised as the injured party. Her left leg hurt, and she was lying on the road with mild injuries. Before transferring her to the hospital, emergency staff applied leg splints and administered basic first aid.
The other person was riding a Honda PCX moped that had front-end damage. Mr. Korakot, the driver, who is 21 years old (last name withheld), had minor injuries all over his body and was waiting for help when it arrived.
It became clear during Mr. Korakot’s interview with The Pattaya News that he was going straight for the Pattaya Klang intersection. It was dark and there was not enough street light in the vicinity, he claimed, making it hard to see Ms. Supaporn coming out of Soi Chaloem Phra Kiat 11. According to Mr. Korakot, this lack of visibility caused the crash and the injuries that followed.
Mr. Korakot begged the appropriate authorities to either install extra lights on the highway or fix any broken ones in order to prevent accidents from happening again.
