When the Pattaya News team and the Pattaya City rescue team arrived at the scene of the event on Pattaya Third Road, they discovered three motorcycles that had crashed on an intersecting road, leaving four people with minor injuries.
According to reports, one of the casualties, Mr. Santichai Limtrakul, a 32-year-old rider for a mobile app taxi, told the rescue team that he was halting at the crossroads to cross the road with a foreign passenger while Ms. Sabaporn Kongcharoen, a 26-year-old motorcycle rider, was waiting beside him. Abruptly, a Russian man is said to have smashed his motorcycle into Sabaporn and Santichai.
The rescue team gave the injured first aid before transporting them to a nearby hospital.
When the suspected Russian man was initially asked to test his alcohol consumption, Pattaya City police officers were met with an aggressive refusal and incomprehensible slur. He refused to identify himself despite the language barrier, and the authorities deemed him to be very uncooperative. He allegedly tried to flee the scene, but police caught him. After taking him into custody for additional investigation, the police officers probably planned to file charges for DUI and try to have him submit to a blood test at the station.
The Russian man declined to answer questions or talk to the media. He was unharmed.
