A Cambodian deckhand stabbed the Thai skipper with a kitchen knife during an altercation on board a fishing boat off the coast of Sattahip, cutting him in the hand and face. As soon as the altercation was resolved, the crew quickly steered the boat back to Samaesarn fishing pier.
When the police boarded the fishing boat “Chokrattanapreeda,” they discovered Apisak Kaopong, the 26-year-old captain, suffering from knife wounds to his right wrist and temple. Even though the injuries were not considered life-threatening, they nonetheless required urgent care. Prior to delivering Apisak to the 10th Military Circle Hospital in Sattahip, the rescue team administered basic first aid.
The attacker, identified as Lam But, 47, was caught there. Lam confessed his culpability, saying that he had taken over the boat’s piloting duties while it was at sea. He asserted that Apisak addressed him impolitely while he was operating the vehicle. Lam attacked the young captain with a kitchen knife after becoming enraged. Other crew members stepped in quickly to stop more damage. Lam hurled the weapon into the water in a hurry. Police are holding the attacker, a Cambodian, and will question him further about the incident.
