Two guys were caught in Chonburi for stealing electricity cables, while one escaped. The suspect shot a gun at a security guard who tried to stop them, injuring his face severely.
The three robbers, later named as Mr. Anuchai Boonpan, 45, Mr. Sarayut Khamduang, 33, and Mr. Thawatchai Sakulrang, 43, were spotted by the company’s security guard, Mr. Ananta Chankwang, and shot him in the face in an attempt to flee.
The offenders were able to flee to Rayong following the incident. On July 30th, however, investigators from the Laem Chabang police station were able to track down and seize Anuchai and Sarayut, as well as two handmade firearms and their getaway vehicle.
Thawatchai, one of the suspects, is still on the run. The two people apprehended agreed to the crimes and were charged with attempted murder, unauthorized possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying firearms in public without authorization, and theft.
The injured security guard is currently safe and sound in a nearby hospital.
