Lady  arrested for opening “mule” accounts in Blackpink ticket scam

Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau apprehended a 35-year-old woman in Chiang Rai province’s Mueang district on fraud charges, accusing her of opening several “mule” accounts used by a gang to park money from the sale of non-existent tickets for a recent Blackpink World Tour concert in Bangkok.

The suspect, who has only been identified as “Sasithorn,” reportedly informed police that she saw an advertisement on a Facebook page promising people 300-500 baht to register a bank account. She accepted the offer because she was broke and earned 900 baht in exchange, but she spent the money on unlawful online gambling.

She also stated that if she became aware that police were hunting for her, she would leave the house only after midnight to avoid arrest.

Police say they received accusations from multiple Blackpink fans who claimed they purchased concert tickets online and deposited money into Sasithorn’s account but never received the tickets.

According to investigators, a background check of police records revealed that the suspect had already done time in prison for illegal drug possession
