A total of 22.5 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine were seized and five suspects arrested in Lom Sak district on Friday, Provincial Police Region 6 commissioner Pol Lt Gen Akradej Pimolsri said on Monday.
Pol Lt Gen Akradej said police raided a house in LomSak followed a lengthy investigation into a drug network.
They arrested Narong Chiangnua, 42, from Lom Sak district, and found in his possession 4.25kg of crystal meth, or “ice” . This led to the arrest of four other suspects and seizure of another 18kg of the drug.
They arrested three men – Tanachote Tantavara, 35, from Chai Nat; Anuchit Kalayaprasit, 25, from Muang district, Phetchabun; and Pichitpol Pongchim, 35, from Wichian Buri district, Phetchabun – and a woman, Chayanit Pukpibul, 30, from Lom Sak, Phetchabun.
Two pickups and a car suspected to have been used in the drug trade were impounded for examination.
The extended investigation was continuing, Pol Lt Gen Akradej said.
