A man dressed in camouflage stood in front of the Royal Thai Marine Corps in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province for days. Police Colonel Panya Damlek from Sattahip Police station received notification about a man dressed similarly to a soldier standing in front of the Marine Corps. The man had the name “Chumthep” stitched on his shirt, he was wearing a black hat, camouflage pants, and had a camouflage backpack. Villagers in the area reported that they were scared of the man as was acting strange. Police Lieutenant Colonel Supan Jaiharn along with other officials went to inspect the area.
Officials found Chumthep 22 years old standing in front of the Marine Corps. Police went to talk with the man for more information. Chumthep stated that he was waiting to meet his parents and wanted to meet his boxing coach. When asked why he dressed similarly to a soldier Chumthep revealed his love for the military. He had always wanted to become an officer at the Royal Thai Marine Corps of the Royal Thai Navy. Chumthep tried to follow his dreams and purchased camouflage clothes. He also collects badges, clothes, and rings related to the Marine Corps. Police invited him to the police station and notified the man’s relatives.
Villagers in the area stated that the man has been standing in the same spot for days in the sun and even while it was raining. Chumthep would look for food in the trash. Some good citizens who passed by felt sorry and bought Chumthep some food and water. When asked when he was going to leave the man would answer that relatives were on the way to pick him up. Villagers waited but he was still in the same place after days. Chumthep is from Sansuk Sub-district in the main city of Chonburi. He wanted to buy marine uniforms but he could only find a soldier uniform which he wore to stand in front of the Marine Corps.
