A 33-year-old woman was found dead in a pickup truck with a bottle of pesticide in a suspected suicide case.
Bang Mod Station police were alerted to the woman’s body found in a parked pickup truck on Rama II Road’s Soi 33 Yaek 7 in Bangkok’s Jomthong district at 9pm yesterday (September 2). At the scene they found the body of Rojana (last name withheld) in the back seat of a bronze Ford Ranger pickup truck.
The woman had a liquid stain coming out of her mouth and nose, while her lips were blackened. Officers reportedly found a soft drink and an unknown liquid in a bottle in the truck. They said they found no signs of any fight or struggle.
The deceased’s husband, Nikorn (last name withheld), 35, reportedly told the police that the last time he saw Rojana was earlier that morning, when they sent their two kids to school.
“After that I left for work and returned home in the evening, but didn’t find my wife until police contacted me saying that they found her body in our truck,” he said.
“My wife is a silent person and rarely confides in me, but I recently talked with her mother and found that her family is in debt, owing several creditors money.”
Forensic staff speculated the woman could have drunk a liquid pesticide mixed with the carbonated soft drink that had affected her nervous system and blood circulation.
Her body was sent to Siriraj Hospital for a detailed autopsy.
