King Rama IX funeral commemorative coins draws large crowd of people, is on second round of reservation
Large throngs of people form a long queue at the Treasury Department on Monday to place orders for the funeral commemorative coins when it reopened for the reservation today. The reservation opened at 8.00 am but throngs of people formed their queues several hours ahead of the official opening as they are afraid the commemorative coins might run out of stocks quickly as demand is high.
Some came to the department since yesterday evening.
It was the second reservation since the Treasury Department opened reservation in the first round on August 22. The latest report from the Treasury Department said reservation for bronze coins were fully booked just in 15 minutes after opening. Only silver, gold, and cupronickel coins are still available for reservation. Reservation will open until September 30th.
