Man facing jail after playing ‘Born Slippy’ on repeat at 3am

Born Slippy

A man who played 90s rave hit “Born Slippy” on a loop in the middle of the night has been warned he could face jail if the noise continues.

Clyde Taylor, 54, ignored warnings from police and continued to play the Underworld dance anthem on repeat in the early hours at his home in Eccles, Greater Manchester.

The council were forced to remove his hi-fi, speakers and his electric guitar he repeatedly breached the noise abatement notice.

Taylor did not attend court in October, but was found guilty of eight breaches of failing to comply with a noise abatement notice.

The nuisance neighbour was also ordered to pay a £1,500 fine, and a £30 victim surcharge.

Salford council have obtained a court order which now prevents Taylor from playing music “at a level that can be heard outside the property”.

The authority said the action could have been avoided had he obeyed the first “polite request to keep the noise down”.

The council said it was the first criminal behaviour order made in relation to noise pollution made in Greater Manchester.

Taylor has been warned by magistrates that he could be jailed if he breaches the order, which lasts five years.
