This is the gripping moment a giant king cobra was wrestled from a sewer in southern Thailand.
Footage shows the four-meter-long snake writhing through a drainage pipe, as brave rescuers struggled to capture it.
The trained snake handlers battled for an hour to catch the slippery reptile, losing their grip as it fought to slither back down the cramped tunnel.
But the team from the Krabi Pitakpracha Rescue Foundation eventually grasped it by its tail, pulling it to safety.
The workers later described the snake, which weighed 15kg, as one of the largest they had ever captured.
The cobra was first spotted in a housing estate in Thailand’s tourist district of Krabi on Sunday, according to local reports.
It was later freed back into the wild in a forest reserve, the Bangkok Post said.
King cobras are large venomous snakes and are considered vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s red list of threatened species.
