Thai cops are hunting Scotland’s ‘Big Daddy’

British Pattaya police volunteer now WANTED in Thailand

An arrest warrant has been issued in Thailand for a Scot dubbed ‘Big Daddy’ who is wanted on charges of human trafficking for an international sex ring.

Douglas Peter Shoebridge is wanted for trafficking women into southeast Asia from East Africa according to police in Thailand.

The 36-year-old is originally from Lochgelly in Fife but travels on both Australian and British passports.

He is understood to have left Thailand on his British passport on April 24.

The warrant has been issued by the Royal Thai Police Human Trafficking Department.

Shoebridge is nicknamed “Big Daddy, Daddy” in the arrest warrant.

He is understood to have been a volunteer in the police force in the tourist hotspot Pattaya, on Thailand’s west coast.

He attracted media attention last year after appearing as a witness in the court case against drug trafficker Luke Cook, 34.

Cook was sentenced to death along with his Thai wife Kanyarat Wedphitak and American Tyler Gerard.
Authorities in Thailand claimed Cook was paid £7.8million by a Hell’s Angels gang to buy and store drugs for later shipment to Australia.

The trio are said to have smuggled 500kg of methamphetamine for Wayne Schneider, the Sydney Hell’s Angels gang boss, in 2015.

Schneider was murdered in Pattaya, on Thailand’s Gulf Coast, the same year.
The Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.
