Tottenham should be out of sight in third place but they’ve done it again! Kicked off early, lost 1-0, and now the other three can mount a challenge. The curse of the early weekend, 1-0 to the opposition, started against Manchester City back on April 20th. A week later at the Tottenham Stadium, although a later kick off on Saturday, the other teams were playing on Sunday as West Ham won 1-0.
Now Bournemouth have done it and the vultures, that’s Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, are all circling licking their lips!

Tottenham’s Crazy Five Minutes
In a crazy five minutes, interrupted by half-time, Tottenham lost Heung-Min Son and Juan Foyth who both saw red.
Heung-Min Son
For Son, normally playing with a smile on his face, he saw red after a challenge from Jefferson Lerma. He appeared to raise his arms and pushed Lerma who fell to the ground as if being hit by an express train and not by Son’s handbag. Quite an overreaction from the 24 four year old El Cerrito born Colombian who rolled around on the ground in agony. Referee Pawson bought into it and out came his red card. Lerma played on!
Juan Foyth
Tottenham regrouped at half-time and sent on Foyth and Victor Wanyama. They just had to hold on for 45 minutes with ten men. Three minutes later that became nine as referee Pawson dismissed Foyth for an uncontrolled lunge on Jack Simpson.
Now 9 Men Had To Hold On!
Nine-men Tottenham battled and were able to hold on until the 90th minute. One minute later, former Chelsea player Nathan Aké found himself in space from a Ryan Fraser corner, to head the winner. Fraser now has 14 assists and tops that group. Aké will no doubt be the toast of Stamford Bridge if they can beat Watford today.
