Ladyboy tells all Thailand’s sex tourism industry. AN escort had spoken openly about the sex tourism in the Asian country.
She outlined the positives and negatives being an escort – with also opening up about the clients.
Patty, who identifies herself as a “ladyboy”, has seen her fair share of wealthy clients who often lavish the escort with designer clothes, expensive gifts and holidays.
Patty was never born into wealth, so that is why the thought of escorting seemed more appealing.
Sex work has helped the “ladyboy” to purchase “beautiful things” and to see more of the world.
Over many many years, Patty has met people from all over the globe and all walks of life.
They use the app called Smooci to find customers who are curious about sex tourism in Thailand.
Patty had told Daily Star Online: “I have met so many people – male, female, couples, even other trans girls and shemales.
“I don’t think there is one style or spec of client.
“My clients have come from many different places and different ages…
“Many clients I met in Bangkok also plan to travel around Bangkok or go to a nice island or beach and many times someone has taken me with them.
“I think because they are on holiday and somewhere new, they are not shy to take me with them.”
Pursuing a career as being an escort has helped Patty greatly to save money to “plan for a good future”.
Patty said: “I chose to start by myself.”
“I had some friends who were working as escorts and they had nice things and were giving money to their family and so I start to think that would be a good choice for me. “
For a ladyboy in Thailand, it’s hard to find a good job or plan for a good future. “
Maybe an escort is not the best job in the world, but it’s not the worst job, and being an escort can help people like me reach a dream.”
Patty also said that the gifts were a major perk of the job. She said: “I got many things from escorting. “I meet many people, and I learned to speak English, but most important is that I earned a lot of money and now I have some savings.“ My goal is to save money for my future.“
I don’t come from a rich family and it’s so nice to be able to help my family and sometimes buy them nice things. “
Also, I get to travel sometimes, which is also very good, I enjoy to see new places…
“I’ve had some clients who like me and like to take me shopping for clothes and shoes and handbags.“
It’s nice when this happens, it means they like me a lot and I feel blessed.”
While Patty had listed many positives to her job, she had also mentioned that her life isn’t always easy. As the job relies heavily on tourism, the money dries up.
Patty said: “In the high season I can earn a lot (November to February), but then in low season and for the rest of the year it is not so easy to meet clients and sometimes I can go a week with no client.
“I’ve learned to save my money in the high season and to understand the future is never clear.”
Patty also added that many people judge her because of her job – which is why she has kept it a secret.
Patty confessed: “My family don’t know what I do, only my mom knows and she respects me a lot…
“Some people will judge me for what I do but I try to do the right thing and be happy.
“I live for my goals and I always try hard to respect people and hope people can respect me.”
