No ‘Songkran’ on Khao San Road

There will be no splashing of water and any other fun activities on Khao Sarn Road in Bangkok this year as the government prepares for the coronation of new King Maha Vajiralongkorn, the Association of Khao Sarn Road Traders (AKSRT) said YESTERDAY (April 3, 2019).

In an interview with the Thai-language daily Thai Rath, the AKSRT said its members have voted to cancel the annual ‘Songkran’ festival to allow the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to spruce up the area while the government maps out its security plan.

Khao Sarn residents said they have no problem joining water-splashing activities in other areas of Bangkok.
