A total of 6,676 illegal foreign workers were sent back to their home countries during July 1, 2018 and June 19, 2019, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported yesterday (July 4, 2019).
The deported workers included 4,251 citizens of Myanmar, 1,060 citizens of Cambodia, 676 citizens of Laos, 355 citizens of Vietnam and 334 other illegal foreign workers. They were fined a total of 28,920,200 baht before returning home.
A total of 1,429 local employers who hired these workers were fined 12,225,400 baht.
