THREE Nigerians and a Thai woman were arrested in 2 separate drug busts yesterday (June 2, 2018) with 75 grams of cocaine being seized in the first raid and 38.22 grams in the other, INN News reported.
Anti-narcotics police at Suvarnabhumi Airport together with Narcotics Control Board officials tracked down 2 Nigerian men, who were the recipients of a parcel in which 75 grams of the cocaine was hidden in the lid of a hot water flask sent from Brazil.
Police disguised themselves to deliver the parcel to an apartment in Soi Raewadee, and arrested Mr Abuchi Bona Nzediegwu, 40, who came to receive it.
However, the first suspect cooperated with the police and helped them arrest the second suspect, Mr Solomon whose real name is Azubuike Emmanuel Obute, 34, who he said is the real owner of the drug.
Upon being contacted, the second suspect came to the apartment from his house in Bang Khun Tien area of Bangkok to get the illegal drug, and was promptly arrested.
In the second drug bust, anti-narcotics police arrested Mr Chinaka Chukwudi Augustine, 38, from Nigeria, and a Thai woman, Ms Yanee Lamana, after finding 38.22 grams of cocaine at their apartment in Bang Plee district of adjacent Samut Prakarn province.
Anti-narcotics police at Suvarnabhumi Airport together with Narcotics Control Board and Thailand Post officials also seize a parcel containing 300 grams of Ice (crystal methamphetamine) sent from Vieng Kaen district of northern Chiang Rai province to Israel.
Further investigation into this case is continuing.
