21 smuggled Myanmar natives arrested in Hat Yai

Police arrested 21 undocumented Myanmar migrants at a house in Hat Yai district, Songkhla province, on Friday evening.

The 19 men and two women from Myanmar were found living in a rented house in Ban Nong Mool village in Tambon Klong Hae at 7pm.

They appeared exhausted as they said they were waiting to be smuggled into Malaysia and they had no food for two days.

They told police they were smuggled from Myanmar across the Ranong border by Thai and Myanmar brokers with the promise of jobs in Malaysia.
