Pol. Lt. Gen. Kittirat Phanphech, the Deputy Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, together with related officials, held a press conference to announce the results of apprehending a drug trafficking network from Phayao province. They were able to seize more than 10 million methamphetamine pills worth over 300 million Baht.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Kittirat stated that the anti-drug operation teams of the 1st Provincial Police Region, Unit 2, along with the military reconnaissance unit from the Operations Command of the Special Warfare Command, expanded their intelligence on communications and financial trails from key drug traffickers in Bang Pa-In District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, and Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani province.

After establishing connections between them, they discovered that a drug trafficking team was transporting drugs from the northern region to deliver to drug dealers in central Thailand. On March 16, they successfully arrested two suspects named Wasan, 33 years old, and Yosapon, 30 years old, who were caught trafficking drugs through a bypass road in Bang Pa-In District, Lopburi province, hiding 50 sacks of drugs, equivalent to about 10 million pills, in a cement truck to evade authorities.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Kittirat mentioned that the suspects admitted to transporting drugs from Phayao province to deliver to recipients in Saraburi province using their personal cement truck for drug trafficking. They were paid 300,000 Baht for the job, while the driver Yosapon received 10,000 Baht.

Officials have charged both suspects with drug distribution crimes for commercial purposes, leading to public harm and have informed Wasan of additional firearms charges under the Arms Act. They are preparing to expand the investigation to their customer base, superiors, and remaining network, as well as scrutinizing their assets to proceed with legal anti-money laundering measures.
