Tragedy struck on the Chonburi bypass bridge on Tuesday, February 13th as a car accident resulted in the loss of one life and serious injury to another individual.
The incident took place in Moo 8, Napa sub-district, Mueang district, Chonburi. Upon reaching the accident site, emergency responders found that a black BMW sedan had crashed into the foundation of the bypass bridge.
The collision caused severe injuries to the sedan’s driver, 26-year-old Mr. Aphirak Kongprateb. Unfortunately, his passenger, a man in his mid-20s whose identity remains unknown, succumbed to critical head injuries. Mr. Aphirak had to be extricated from the wreckage as his legs were trapped. Rescue workers administered initial medical aid and later transferred him to Chonburi Hospital for further treatment.
An eyewitness, Mr. Phornchai Sakuljankeasam, 58, reported that he was driving in the left lane when he observed the speeding BMW veering into his lane. The sedan then collided with the bridge on the right, leading to the tragic accident.
