Vendors in Pattaya asked for parking on Beach road

Pattaya Beach sellers banded together on June 6th, 2023 to petition the authorities to reverse a decision from early March that forbade parking on the beachside of Pattaya Beach. The vendors claimed that, under the direction of Mr. Wirawit Charoenrit Taweechok, was seriously harming their company.

The group brought up a number of concerns they had with the order in their conversation with Pattaya Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai.

Promises to find alternate parking, offer parking garages, and offer shuttles to the beach, according to Wirawit, never materialized. As a result, the city effectively outlawed parking altogether in the absence of workable alternatives.

Furthermore, Wirawit noted that work on projects to widen the beach road and construct parking areas, such as those at Jomtien Beach, was proceeding slowly and would take a while to finish.

Deputy Mayor Nongyai announced that he would explore potential solutions with Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampiches and the appropriate officials after acknowledging that the idea to outlaw parking had not been a perfect answer and that the vendors’ worries were legitimate.
