The authorities have detained Doctor Gee, an unlicensed doctor who practices out of his home.
Even though he had just finished high school, Doctor Gee treated patients and received training in bone-setting. Today, November 18, the police, the Health Support Department, and the Chon Buri Provincial Public Health Office raided the home of the illegal doctor to find out about his activities.
The 4th Infantry Battalion of the Military Circle and the Provincial Police Region 1 conducted the operation after learning of Illicit Doctor and Illicit Doctor 2 on Facebook and TikTok, respectively. These accounts promoted bone-setting services for treating a variety of ailments, which is against the law for anyone who isn’t working in a licensed medical facility and isn’t a licensed practitioner. The medical procedure was being performed at Bang Lamung, Chon Buri.
Subsequently, when the suspect’s home was searched, it was discovered that the interior had been furnished to resemble a medical facility, replete with patient beds, medication cabinets, and treatment supplies. The 49-year-old unlicensed physician was discovered using cupping therapy on a patient.
He acknowledged sharing pictures and videos of his therapy sessions on social media after being questioned. The illegal physician acknowledged that he was not licensed to practice medicine. Around 2020, he trained at a traditional Thai medicine institute because he was interested in treating patients even though he had already finished his secondary education. But according to KhaoSod, he never got a license and started treating people for bone-setting at home.
The cost of the services varied from 1,500 to 2,500 baht, depending on how long the therapy lasted. The illegal physician would see three to five people a day on average. The authorities are pursuing legal action against the dishonest doctor for operating a medical facility and providing medical services without a license, selling unlicensed modern medicine, selling unregistered prescription drugs, and practicing medicine without a license. They have seized 54 types of modern medicine, totaling over 3,700 capsules.
