Two UK nationals have been arrested in Thailand for separate offenses—one a fugitive and prizefighter in Phuket, the other operating an illegal cosmetic clinic on Koh Phangan.
Ben Ransom, 28, was apprehended at a restaurant in Phuket’s Muang district on Monday. According to Pol Maj Gen Montree Theskhan, commander of the Crime Suppression Division, Ransom is wanted in the UK on drug trafficking charges. He has been living in Thailand for the past two years, where he fought under the ring name “Billy.” Despite denying the charges, he is set to be extradited.
In a separate case on Koh Phangan in Surat Thani province, police arrested Thomas Foley, 42, at his rented residence for running an unauthorized clinic, selling unregistered medicine, and performing cosmetic procedures without a permit. Foley is accused of administering illegal “filler” injections. Authorities seized cosmetic products valued at approximately 3.5 million baht. Foley is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
