Danilo Creati sees an opportunity in Nikita Tszyu’s jaw and plans to exploit it in their upcoming title bout at the Hordern Pavilion on April 24. Tszyu aims to defend his Australian super welterweight title in this much-anticipated showdown, which will be aired on Main Event and Kayo.
Last seen triumphing over Dylan Biggs in Newcastle, Tszyu remains undefeated after eight professional fights. In contrast, Creati, with an 8-1-1 (1 KO) record, seeks his first victory since 2022 but remains undefeated as a super welterweight.
Speaking in Sydney, Creati compared Tszyu’s privileged background to Ivan Drago from Rocky IV, claiming, “He’s a human being like everyone. His chin is fragile, so we’re going to target it. I envision myself raising my hands, claiming what’s rightfully mine.”
In response, Tszyu humorously pointed to his chin, challenging Creati with, “Aim right here, the left side. Come on, go for it. It’s a false sense of security for them. I’m happy to snatch that hope away.”
Tszyu, inspired by his brother Tim’s recent blood-soaked fight in Las Vegas, expressed, “Seeing all the blood, it was quite arousing for me. I’m attracted to that kind of gruesomeness. Let’s bring a war… let’s get bloody.”
Creati echoed Tszyu’s sentiments, stating, “I’m really keen for a fight like that. I never step back.”
With both fighters showcasing unwavering determination, Tszyu emphasized his commitment to knockout wins, refusing to leave his fate to the judges. “In order to be in full control in this sport, you have to win by KO. You can’t let the judges decide your fate,” Tszyu affirmed, reflecting on lessons from his amateur days.
