Three men were injured after an explosion led to a partial roof collapse at the Appin West Colliery in Douglas Park, Sydney’s south, early Sunday morning. Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after 3 AM following reports of the explosion.
During the explosion, one man was reportedly propelled three meters into the air and became buried under rubble until he managed to free himself. Fortunately, all three men inside the mine were able to exit safely.
They were transported to a hospital in stable condition. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is currently ongoing.
