Thief Steals Money from Pattaya Mosque

An irreverent thief broke into a Pattaya mosque and stole two donation boxes with 5,500 baht inside.

The Darul Ibadah Mosque in Central Pattaya was broken into by an unidentified man standing about 175 cm tall last night, April 2nd, according to a CCTV camera that captured the shocking act.

The thief entered the sacred place after sundown and stole two wooden boxes containing 4,000 baht and 1,500 baht. One wooden box was also destroyed and discarded at the mosque because it was empty.

Mr. Surin Yimyai, director of Darul Ibadah Mosque, revealed to The Pattaya News that he had already filed a report with the Pattaya Police. He added that the thief acted outrageously without fear of either the law nor religion.

The director said he would notify all mosques in the Pattaya area to be watchful of their property.
