Diesel will now cost 32 Baht per liter thanks to a drop in price approved by the Oil Fuel Fund Office (OFFO).
The new retail price for diesel will be 32 baht per liter, as revealed by OFFO Director Wisak Watanasap after the OFFO meeting agreed a cut in retail prices by 50 satang per liter. Starting on May 15, this modification will be in force.
For a total decrease of 3 baht per liter, this is the second price adjustment in May and the sixth overall since February. Along with lowering the cost of living for individuals, it also lowers transportation expenses and financial barriers to the country’s economic recovery.
The decrease was brought on by declining worldwide fuel prices, especially diesel. Diesel had a US$86.42 average price per barrel from May 1 to May 8, which was a 10.70 dollar decline from the previous month.
Additionally, the OFFO’s financial situation has improved. It now has a deficit of 79.3 billion baht, which is made up of a deficit on the fuel account of roughly 32.6 billion baht and a deficit on the LPG account of 46.7 billion baht.
