She was discovered walking along Buriram-Nang Rong Road late at night, carrying milk and snacks in her backpack. A kind passerby spotted her and took her to a nearby petrol station, where the Siam Ruam Jai Pu In Rescue Team was contacted to escort her home.
The girl’s 29-year-old mother had just returned from work and was unaware her daughter had left. She explained that her daughter had been excited for the trip, as it was her first chance to see elephants up close. The mother had encouraged her to sleep early but didn’t expect her to leave during the night.
The school bus returned from the field trip at 5 p.m. the next day, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement. The girl, who had woken up much earlier than her classmates, was especially thrilled. She joyfully shared how she saw many elephants, both big and small, before her mother came to pick her up.
Touched by her story, the rescue worker who initially brought her home visited again and found the girl living in a modest wooden and zinc house. The mother shared that the girl’s father had passed away in an accident four years ago, and since then, the family had limited opportunities to travel as the mother worked to support them.
When the rescue worker asked what the girl wanted to eat, she expressed a wish to try KFC, something she had never had before. Moved by the simple request, the worker asked the mother for permission to treat both of them to KFC in Nang Rong district.
The rescue worker shared that the meal was made possible by contributions from the rescue team, who wanted to support the girl. They all enjoyed a special meal together at the KFC restaurant, as reported by KhaoSod.
