Brentford’s Ivan Toney faced another frustrating outing in front of goal as his scoring drought extended to 10 Premier League matches in a goalless draw against Fulham. Despite backing from manager Thomas Frank, Toney managed just one shot on target during the game.
Fulham’s Raul Jimenez had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock but failed to hit the target from close range. Meanwhile, Bryan Mbeumo struck the crossbar for Brentford, who also felt aggrieved after a penalty appeal was waved away.
With little at stake for either team in terms of league position, both sides played with attacking freedom, although the lack of quality in the final third was evident. Toney, in particular, struggled to make an impact due to limited service from his teammates.
The draw sees Fulham move up to 12th place on goal difference, while Brentford remains in 16th position. Toney’s goal drought continues, raising questions about his potential inclusion in the England squad for Euro 2024.
