A 38-year-old South Korean hotel executive was found dead inside a second-floor office at the hotel in Tha Muang district on Saturday.
There were no traces of a struggle, but the man’s younger sister said he had received a second dose of Covid-19 vaccine recently and had complained of a fever and arm weakness.
Local police together with a doctor, interpreter, tourist police and rescue workers went to the hotel in tambon Tha Lor after being alerted, said Pol Col Sumit Boonyanit, deputy chief of Tha Muang police station, who received the report around 8.45am.
Chalao Runkasem, a hotel housekeeper, was waiting there for the police along with Saron Jeon, the sister of the deceased. The man, identified as Kim Kyoung Cheon, worked as an executive of the hotel.
Ms Chalao told police that she had knocked on the door of the office when she came to clean it, but there was no response.
She then opened the door and found him lying on the floor in shorts and a T-shirt.
When she checked and determined he was not breathing, she ran to tell his sister and relatives who alerted police at 191, according to Thai Post.
A doctor said Kim had been dead for 6-8 hours before his body was found.
Police found no wounds on the body and no traces of a struggle in the room.
A computer on the desk was still turned on and appeared to be running a game.
The doctor conducted an antigen test for Covid-19 on the body and the result was negative.

Kim’s sister told police that her brother was healthy.
He received his first dose of Moderna vaccine in early January and a second jab of the same vaccine last week. After that he complained of his left arm being weak, she said.
The medical team has not yet concluded the cause of death. The body was sent to Police General Hospital in Bangkok for a post-mortem examination to determine if the death was from an underlying health condition or was linked to the vaccination.
