Sergeant fired for extorting female tourist

A POLICE sergeant in the Thai resort of Pattaya was fired this morning (June 2, 2018) for extorting and molesting a 23-year-old female tourist from the northeastern Thai province of Chaiyaphum, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.

The tourist was locked up last night after she got involved in a car accident. This morning, the police sergeant offered to release her in return for 20,000 baht in cash.

Her friend later came to bail her out. As they were about to leave, the sergeant kissed her on the cheek and squeezed her body in front of other people.

“I was shocked and embarrassed by his action,” said the woman.

The provincial governor fired the police sergeant early this afternoon
