After the Administrative Court denied the owner’s appeal, Sukhawadee House, a lavish beachside home and popular tourist destination in Pattaya, is having its Building A demolished.
The mansion in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district was demolished when it was discovered that Building A was on public property and that Building B and Building C were illegally constructed.
In order to comply with legislation pertaining to distance from the sea, Building C’s area has been reduced. Building B will not be moved forward until the court rules.
On May 30, 30 municipal employees from Pattaya City arrived at Sukhawadee House in trucks and backhoes.
On an 11-rai parcel that had been reclaimed from the sea, Building A was built. It is a portion of the 80-rai site that Sukhwadee House is situated on.
At first, the authorities removed floor coverings and turned off the water and electricity. Sukhwadee House’s attorney came to watch and request that the town delay the destruction.
The owner of Sukhwadee House was given a demolition order by the city municipality, according to Chris Cherdsuriya, head of Pattaya City’s engineering office’s building control division, but no work has been done as of yet.
He argued that now was the proper time for Pattaya to act, or else officials risked being punished for discharging their jobs.
He claimed that before contracting contractors to demolish the entire structure, the officials would wait up to seven days to make sure the owner could not use it.
He further stated that the owner of Saha Farms Co Ltd, one of the largest exporters of frozen poultry in the nation, Panya Chotitawan, will be required to pay demolition costs.
