Pattaya city plans a walking city

A recent proposal to transform Pattaya into a so-called “Walking City” has been made by the Redemptorist Foundation, which aids those with impairments. The proposal was made at a City Hall meeting on June 13, 2023 by Redemptorist, a prominent international group for people with disabilities with expertise in educating people with impairments.

In essence, the concept would start the transition of Pattaya’s central areas from being focused on vehicles to being focused on walking, with strong support for those with impairments.

The concept is still in its early phases, but some of the initial ideas were that Pattaya City needed to make serious repairs to the footpaths around the neighborhood and develop initiatives to promote walking over using private vehicles. Additionally, by doing this, areas would be created that would make it much simpler for people to travel in wheelchairs.

Traffic in Pattaya has long been a pain, and it appears to be getting worse every day as more tourists, both domestic and foreign, visit the city. Naturally, this is made worse by everyday occurrences and traffic improvements.
