Although many tourists visit Pattaya for Songkran, the bus station was packed with people departing the city as the celebration got started.
On April 12, there were a lot of people boarding buses in North Pattaya to travel to the countryside for Songkran. Starting at 4 a.m., 40 buses a day traveled to three stations in Bangkok and Samut Prakan.
Employees at the station reported it was busier than at any time since 2019 when the exodus started on April 10.
On April 17 or later, most individuals will return.
