Together with Pattaya police, Chon Buri’s tourist police paid a visit to Pattaya Beach Friday night. The authorities sought to put a stop to the disruptive behavior that sex workers, transgender ladies, homeless people, and beggars were engaging in on the beach. This was done to protect tourists.
The move was in line with the policy of the government, who have charged the Tourist Police with investigating any potential crimes against tourists and protecting their safety.
Authorities in Chon Buri emphasized their willingness to assist and accommodate those in need in relation to this operation, offering assistance up until those individuals were able to find steady employment and become independent.
The public has been urged by the tourist police to report any suspicious activity or issues that are brought on by tourists by calling the hotline at 1155. Just yesterday, it was revealed that a transgender suspect is suspected of robbing a Russian couple in Pattaya earlier this week of cash and gold necklaces.
Officials in Pattaya are still trying to solve the city’s problems with beggars and homelessness.
Last week, representatives from Pattaya and Laem Chabang Municipality formally signed an MOU to work together on creating and implementing a successful welfare program for begging and homeless people.
This collaborative effort’s main goals are to guarantee that these helpless people have access to crucial healthcare treatments, enhance their social dignity, and promote favorable public attitudes about them.
Research will be done to pinpoint the actual number of homeless people in the Chon Buri region in order to get the process started.
The results of this study will be utilized to develop activities and plans aimed at improving the standard of living for beggars and the homeless.
Officials from Laem Chabang Municipality and Pattaya are moving closer to solving the urgent problem of homelessness by cooperating and sharing resources.
