A Pattaya resident committed suicide at a shooting range in Rayong province.
Thai police were notified of the incident at 3:30 p.m. on August 8th. It happened near U-Tapao Airport in the Ban Chang district, at a Royal Thai Naval Air Division shooting range.
Medics from Ban Chang Hospital and rescuers from a charitable foundation joined the police on the scene.
When they arrived, they discovered a Thai male, later identified as Mr. Chatchai Ankaratporn, 40, of Pattaya, lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to his right temple.
The cops took a 9mm pistol from him that had been discarded nearby. When he arrived at a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead.
The man arrived at the shooting range in his pickup truck, according to an unidentified gun instructor. He then rented a gun with 20 shots, and after emptying the magazine, he shot himself in the head before instructors could interfere.
The instructor also mentioned that the man had previously attended the range to shoot a rifle and had had no problems. His motive was still being investigated, and his family had been notified.
