A Canadian man providing massage therapy services on Koh Phangan has been arrested for working in a job restricted to Thai nationals.
On Friday, tourist police and immigration officers apprehended 48-year-old Ky Jablonowski during a raid at Kissmoon Village resort on the island. The officers seized his massage bed, and upon searching him, they discovered a sachet of MDMA in his pants pocket. Jablonowski claimed the drug was given to him by a friend during an outing.
During questioning, Jablonowski admitted to working as a massage therapist and teaching massage. He charged 3,000 baht per session and had a website and WhatsApp for booking both massage services and courses.
Mr. Jablonowski was charged with working in a position reserved for Thai nationals and possession of a Category 1 drug. He has been transferred to Koh Phangan Police Station for further legal proceedings.
