Guns examined in shaman shooting

Road closures for 2019 Countdown

Police have summoned gun owners in Moo 10 village of Tambon Mae La in in Tak’s Tha Song Yang district to present their weapons for inspection as they continue their investigations into the shooting of a 60-year-old shaman who was shot dead at his home on Sunday.

Deekor Wiangpana was found dead at his home with two gunshot wounds to his head and face.

Deekor was reportedly famous amongst Tak, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son residents for his “magic” services, which included casting away spirits and making charms to bewitch target persons.

Police are exploring a series of recent spells cast by Deekor including the charms he made for group of men who reportedly used the magic to seduce women in the event he might have been killed by either the women or their relatives, but are not ruling out other possible motives.
