A former tambon chief in Nan was gunned down on Wednesday afternoon.
Na Noi district police called to the murder scene at 4pm found Kaset Yosboonruang, 62, dead with wounds to the head, torso and legs.
Spent shells from an AK47 assault rifle were collected.
Kaset was shot while cutting weeds on his rubber plantation in Moo 4, Tambon Si Sa Ket.
