A fire broke out this morning at the Big Moose beer bar and rental rooms in Pattaya, trapping six residents and triggering an emergency response from local firefighters. The fire started around 7:30 AM at the establishment, located near Pattaya Beach Road. The blaze began on the ground floor, blocking exits and leaving six people trapped inside.
Firefighters arrived promptly, dousing the flames and successfully rescuing those inside. The rescued individuals were taken to Pattaya Hospital for immediate medical care. According to the firefighters, the ground floor, which operates as a beer bar, sustained significant damage, but the upper floors, which are used as rental rooms, were largely unaffected. Crews continued to ventilate the building to clear out lingering smoke.
Ms. Wannee Phanlai, the 42-year-old caretaker of the property, shared that she was resting on the fifth floor when she received a phone call informing her of the fire. Panicked, she rushed downstairs and encountered thick smoke. Ms. Wannee tried to push through the flames to escape, noticing officials already using fire extinguishers to control the situation. She explained that she manages the property for the owner and had never faced such an incident before. Ms. Wannee suspects the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit on the ground floor, as she recalled hearing explosions while firefighters battled the blaze.
