Ex-Boyfriend Pulls Gun in Pattaya Nightclub After Confronting Waiter Over Ex-Girlfriend

Incident Overview

A jealous ex-boyfriend caused chaos at a Pattaya nightclub on the morning of February 20, 2025, after pulling a gun on a waiter he mistakenly believed was his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. The 33-year-old man, identified as Mr. Surachet, was swiftly arrested following the confrontation at a cocktail lounge in LK Metro.

The Confrontation

Pattaya police received a report of the incident at 2:06 AM, and officers arrived quickly at the scene. The nightclub was in disarray, with a 28-year-old woman, Ms. Nok, visibly shaken and crying, while a 40-year-old waiter, referred to as Mr. A (alias), was waiting to provide his statement. Security had already restrained Mr. Surachet by the time the police arrived.

Details of the Incident

Ms. Nok explained to the authorities that Mr. Surachet was her ex-boyfriend, whom she had broken up with the previous year. On that night, Mr. Surachet entered the nightclub and noticed her sitting with Mr. A. Mistaking the waiter for her new boyfriend, he became enraged and started harassing Ms. Nok. The situation quickly escalated when he attacked Mr. A. Security staff intervened, but the situation took a dangerous turn when Mr. Surachet drew a .38 caliber revolver and threatened others inside the venue. The incident caused panic among customers.

Suspect’s Claims

Mr. Surachet was found in possession of the revolver, which contained five rounds of ammunition, along with a tanto knife. When questioned by the police, he admitted to owning the firearm but claimed he had no intention of hurting anyone. He stated that the gun was pulled out in fear for his safety after security guards restrained him. Regarding the attack on the waiter, Mr. Surachet explained that he lost his temper after seeing Mr. A acting flirtatiously toward Ms. Nok.

It was not immediately clear whether the firearm was legally registered.

Police Action and Charges

Mr. Surachet was arrested and transported to Pattaya Police Station for further questioning. He is set to face formal charges and undergo testing for drugs and alcohol. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
