England Fan Wakes Up Alone in Empty Veltins Arena at 4 AM

England Fan Wakes Alone in Empty Stadium at 4 AM

An England fan attending the match against Serbia at the Veltins Arena found himself in an unusual predicament. After dozing off during the game, he woke up at 4 AM to find the stadium completely empty.

In a remarkable video posted online, the groggy fan narrates his surreal experience, showing himself in the deserted stadium amid freezing temperatures. Astonishingly, he managed to sleep through the game and the subsequent clearing of the stadium by stewards.

The video quickly went viral, with social media users expressing disbelief. One commented, “How has the security not noticed him?” Another jokingly blamed the match’s dullness, saying, “Was he sleeping through the England game? Didn’t miss much.”

This incident adds to the list of memorable moments from the Euros, including viral clips of Albanian fans taunting Italian supporters and fan clashes in Gelsenkirchen.

England’s match ended in a lackluster 1-0 victory over Serbia, with Jude Bellingham scoring the lone goal in the 13th minute. Fans criticized the team for not pushing harder after the early lead.

Despite the criticisms, England’s manager Gareth Southgate was likely pleased with the three points, securing an early lead in their group following Denmark’s draw with Slovenia. England’s next matches are against Denmark on Thursday at 5 PM BST in Frankfurt, and they will conclude the group stage in Cologne on Tuesday, June 25, at 8 PM BST.
