Dusit Thani Pattaya joins ecotourism activities with DASTA and green hotel association
Pattaya, Thailand – 9 September 2019 – Recently, the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism or DASTA in co-operation with Prasae Community and representative from the members of Green Hotel; organised ecotourism activities “Local Tourism…Pak Nam Prasae Community, Rayong Province” where all participants experienced the local Pak Nam Prasae fisherman community, learnt about the mangrove ecosystem, and planting the mangrove at Plook…Pan…Pong Learning and Conservation Centre. Dusit Thani Pattaya’s Mr Neoh Kean Boon, General Manager, and Khun Thitipat Chirayunon, Marketing Communications Manager, joined the Green Hotel Association and DASTA to participate in the events as representatives of the hotel industry.
Dusit Thani Pattaya joined the activity as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Awareness project, which stimulates the hotel to be a volunteer and aware of the environment. As an environmentally friendly hotel, Dusit Thani Pattaya adheres to eco-friendly practices and joins with the local community and organisations to work for a better environment.
DASTA has been established in accordance with the provisions of the royal decree establishing the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Public Organisation). DASTA has been operating since 1 October 2003. With roles and responsibilities covering sustainable tourism operation, through co-ordination for the integrated administration of areas with valuable tourism resources, with more flexibility and promptness in operation than that of government agencies and state enterprises, it is as an important driving force in the administration of the country’s tourism industry both in the short and long term.
