Six hurt as drunk Songkran revellers clash in Prachuap Khiri Khan hospital

Two groups of drunk Songkran revellers engaged in brawls inside a district hospital in Prachuap Khiri Khan late on Monday night after they continued fights begun at a Songkran celebration venue and followed each other to the hospital.

Police said the two groups initially clashed at the celebration venue on Bang Saphan Road in Moo 2 village in Tambon Bang Saphan of Bang Saphan Noi district.

Friends then took one of the injured fighters, Somyos Thongrak, 20, to the Bang Saphan Noi Hospital. The other group followed them and resumed the brawl in front of the emergency room, causing injuries among five more from both sides.

Doctors treated the six injured and discharged them.

Pol Captain Sompol Supapong, deputy inspector of the Bang Saphan Noi police station, said the force would check security-camera footage at the hospital and take legal action against the men who participated in the brawl, which had terrified patients and hospital officials.
